" love is touching souls surely you touched mine 'cause part of you pours out
of me in these lines from time to time", is my favorite line of mitchell
poetry, most of the time anyway - peace, david

I think you are 100% correct. Thanks for the insights! This got me to
thinking that "part of you pours out of me in these lines from time to time",
supports your theory in that I have often noticed that her writing style seems
to be influenced by his. I used to think this line just meant that because she
loved him, he was in her songs. Now it seems that what she meant is far
deeper. Which to me just underscores her brilliant writing. Which is why I
love trying to uncover who the song is about...
well i believe the entire album is about mitchell's separation from g.
nash "the best baby i ever had" and her subsequent fling with j. taylor "mean
old daddy" - to me her relationship with nash seemed more of a marriage which
would elicit the despair of blue, while the taylor romance was more light and
airy as in carey - the religious imagery in "a case of you" lends to the l.
cohen theory, plus love is touching souls sound more like cohen than taylor -

oh yes, it could be LCohen, what led you to think Blue was for Graham? I
never did until someone suggested that it was then it made sense...

i also have always thought of this song being for JT somehow but the
line "i
drew a map of canada with your face sketched on it twice..." makes me
think
its about someone from canada (Neil Young?)

Leonard Cohen is also Canadian I believe - I always thought Blue was
Graham Nash - peace, david
