Hey folks- Episode 2 is Tuesday night according to both USA Today and my
local PBS station's schedule. The PBS site, www.pbs.org does an excellent
job of "selling" the series but don't assume that it's weekly- it is not!
>From USA Today, here's the schedule. Look how wacky it is:
Jan 8: "Gumbo" beginnings to 1917
Jan 9: "The Gift" 1917-1924
Jan 10: "Our Language" 1924-1928
Jan 15: "The True Welcome" 1929-1935
Jan 17: "Swing: Pure Pleasure" 1935-2937
Jan 22: "Swing: The Velocity of Celebration" 1937-1939
Jan 23: "Dedicated to Chaos" 1940-1945
Jan 29: "The Adventure" 1956-1960
Jan 31: "A Masterpiece by Midnight" 1961- present*
BTW, while USA Today says that the last episode covers 1961- present, I read
an in an interview with filmmaker Ken Burns who said that it only covers
through 1975.
More soon, I'm sure.
All the best,
