I was a Joni fan for 30 years and I'm ashamed to say that I only "got" The
Jungle Line at Ashara's 1998 Boston Jonifest. It helped that I was outside
and it came over the big sound system that Chuck E had set up on the back
porch. My reaction was "Wow! - What a great song!"
Maybe you need a new sound system! ;^D
But seriously, you should at least check out the poetry. It's some of her
best.
