Tonight I was in a radio station for the first time since 1972. Anyway, I
asked the dj, "Nikki, why do I hear a HUM when you're talking? Only when
you're talking."
"You mean now?"
"No, I heard it in the car too," I said.
"In the *car* too? How long have you heard it?"
"About a week. Why?"
"Well", she said, "they just put in this new dimmer." She turned the dimmer
up and the hum went away. "I heard it here (in the air studio) but I didn't
know it was going out."
"Yeah," I said, "it's going out."
"Maybe they'll have to replace the dimmer," said Nikki, "I'll tell them
about it."
