That's why I think she uses Chaplin and Bergman, 2 filmmakers whose works were filled with poignant humor, simultaneously funny & sad.... Here's something else I picked up on: "we could talk about power, About Jesus AND Hitler AND Howard Hughes" The thing that struck me was her use of the word AND instead of OR. And following the line about power, she's using Jesus as an example of SPIRITUAL power, Hitler as an example of PHYSICAL power, and Hughes as an example of ECONOMIC power. In other words, she's not saying that we can talk about them seperately, but rather discuss them in tandem. Fascinating stuff. I'm convinced that there's not a word in here chosen at random. Bob
