Thanks for the info. They were co-billed at the Largo, too, but I guess I
assumed that it would be more about Aimee. I actually like Michael Penn's
music very much (very Beatle-ish) and enjoyed him at the show. It did occur
to me that maybe Aimee liked the showcase concept and that it made her more
comfortable to be surrounded by Penn and friends than to be out there on her
own carrying it all. That was the first time I saw Aimee live, however, and
while she was fine, I would have appreciated her much more if my focus was
not broken up by the performances of the others that were interspersed
between her songs. When I later received the great compilation of mostly
her solo songs live, it was almost like hearing her for the first time in
contrast. Just my take as an Aimee neophyte!
