a friend wants advice (njc)

I hope someone has had experience includinng music on a website (or knows the 
answer anyway):

My friend is a singer who does other people's material and she is starting a 
website. She wants visitors to the site to be able to hear her sing. No money 
changes hands in this scenario. Does she have to clear the music with 
someone? Who? Any idea of the fee?
