Thanks for this.  I had never heard it before, and it is striking and
thought provoking.

In Saul Bellow's most recent novel, Ravelstein, there is a passage about the
splitting of the self, sun and moon, and the everlasting search, perhaps
through lifetimes, for one's soul mate.
