Hi Catherine,
I do indeed. So, like the "prophet witches", she felt "martyred" for her
beliefs( e.g. women's liberation,
strong, independent vision) by the SOP in this relationship, forced to act
"polite", and to 'know her place'.
This makes total sense to me, IMO, and in the context of the song.It just
fits perfectly--thank you so much for your post.After all these years, this
song is starting to come together for me like pieces to a puzzle.Your input
is greatly appreciated.
