Can you imagine the all that music wafting down > through the canyon everyday? Too much! Add me to that list as well! I've always said I was born at least twenty years too late (and on the wrong side of the planet). I think I've mentioned all this before on-list, but I have a video/documentary of the Mamas and Papas where someone is talking about the parties that John and Michelle Phillips used to have in LA (I think it was Laurel Canyon, but that may have been Cass Elliot). Anyway they were saying that the most unbelievable people would turn up - Peter Sellers (I think - I haven't watched it for a while) was turned away at the door one night because there were too many people! Mackensie Phillips tells a great story about falling asleep one night - at the age of about five - in Paul McArtney's arms. And then there's the story Stephen Stills tells of jamming with Jimi Hendrix one day, and the cops showing up because someone (a philistine, obviously) complained about the noise. Once the cop realised who it was, he said he'd field all the calls from the top of the driveway! Must have been some pretty amazing scenes.
