I don't know for sure if this is how they met but I suspect it has something to do
with them both playing at "The Gaslight" in Coconut Grove, Florida. Fred used to play
there a lot and that is where Joni was "discovered" by Crosby. My husband used to go
there a lot
before we met (and when I was too young) He says he might have even seen Joni there
but doesn't remember...so who could not remember Joni??? Aaah, the days of drugs and
roses...
