Thorry if I thound funny, but I duth got back from the dentith and the
novocain hathn't worn off yet :~)
I had two hours of dental work done this morning, and I decided to bring my
walkman with me. I had a tape of random Joni songs which I listened to. I
was really concentrating on her music to keep my mind off that horrible
drilling sound. Would you believe as he was injecting the novocain,
"Empty,Try Another" played ? LOL it's the truth. I thought "shit, those
needles better not be empty".
I also kept thinking about the other Joni songs as the dentist drilled away.
In "Everything for Nothing", she sings about the wooly little lawyers and
*grinding their teeth*. In "The Reoccurring Dream", I picked out
........More full*filling* and less frustrating.
The major disappointment was when one of my favorite softer Joni songs "Two
Grey Rooms" was overpowered by the noise of the drill. He also moved my
headsets back slightly during "Refuge of The Roads" so I could hear him
telling me when to tap my teeth several times. Grrrrrrr. I wanted to tell
him NOT YET, "Refuge of the Roads" is playing.
The cool thing was when he was finished and my headsets were around my neck
with the walkman still blaring, he said "Is that Joni Mitchell you're
listening to?" His assistant guessed Carole King.
What a cool dentist (and cute too) :~)
So if any of you have to get your teeth worked on or cleaned. TAKE JONI WITH
YOU!!!
Hugth and kitheth,
Jimmy
