Howdy folks,
This Enya thread got me somehow thinking about the wide range of
music we listen to, and how it's so neat that even though we have such
different likes (Robberto and opera, Nikki, Hell, Kerry and I with the
Stevie obsession, Ashara and the rest with that band that I can never
remember the name -- LOL, I dunno, Steelhead Catfish or something
[hehehehe], the Jonatha crowd, Bob and his newfound love for Courtney
Love [damnit, I'll make him love her if it's the last thing I do!], Don
Rowe/Larry Klein and his wide array of choices, me and Jason Maloney's
80's synth/goth/industrial/new romantic/80's top 40 obsession, etc.,
Jimmy and his penchant for Blue Oyster Cult and Laura Branigan
[hehehehe], etc.), we all have Joni in common. I know we have had
threads before on what our first Joni was, and how we stumbled upon her,
but thinking tonight about DED, which as you know is one of my faves, I
was wondering if anyone jumped on the Joni train with albums that we
always argue over -- namely, WTRF, DED, CMIARS, and let's throw TTT in
there as well. For me, my first Joni album was Blue, in 88, but I was
sort of familiar with her because "Good Friends" got a bit of airplay
here, and of course the videos from CMIARS were always on MuchMusic. I
went back and bought DED shortly after Blue, and even though I think it
kicks ass, I don't know if I would have given it a chance had I not
become a convert with Blue. So, anyone here get into Joni with those
albums? I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that they had.
Just curious,
Evian
np: "Southside" Moby and Gwen Stefani, who I seem to have an obsession
with as of late -- must be her 80's sound!
P.S. Don/Larry -- don't let anyone make you feel funny about Garth --
I've got Tim McGraw in the car.
