don't miss my point, here. i am sure that there are
tons of excellent songs, like this neil example, that
were written about beloved pets, animals, etc. my
point was that "man from mars" was my favorite song on
the album, and i always listened to it really loud
with headphones, thinking of it as an intense love
song. (paz, no beatiality jokes, please.)
it just had a certain meaning for me, as a romantic
song, which inevitably changed when i found out it was
written about her cat. it's a sweet sentiment, it's
still a great song and i still love to listen to it.
but knowing the song was about a cat just did not
enrich the experience of it for me.
