The line of the night was on Dave Letterman afterwards.  Dave said the reason
they call it "the grammys" was that calling it "the kilos" would be too
obvious.

And Dave hadn't even seen Macy Gray's performance when he said that!

Kate, I think all of the nominees for Song of the Year were weak this year.  As
far as what song I heard most often, most everywhere, was the Grammy winner for
Best Dance Song, "Who Let the Dogs Out."  I've heard a lot of versions, its
catchy, it has a great beat, and you can dance to it...

But of the songs this past year, what was the Song of the Year?  What was the
one song that transcended all the other new songs?  I hope people will post on
this since I can't think of any song that really stood out for me except  "Who
Let the Dogs Out", "Higher" by Creed, and "Matthew Mathers"  which is about as
varied as one can get... and I may toss in "Oops, I Did It Again."

But what do all the JMDLers nominate for the song(s) of the year?
