Wow, lots of stuff to think about in this issue....ordinary people do
horrible things all the time and that excuses this snotty punk M&M for his
hateful trash? - please!...Elton John - She Stoops to Conquer...Joni's Grammy
was noted twice in the show, once visually, while she was on camera just
after Steely Dan's first win, and later when it was mentioned by Stewart as
he introduced Joni and Santana...some of the nominations and wins may be hard
to fathom, but the voting is done by recording musicians and professionals
(many of whom, apparently, have an interest in the proliferation of lowest
common denominator pop music...I mean, really, "Remember My Name" a nominee
for Song of the Year, an award for writers -- lyricists!... Nevertheless, I
am thrilled to see Joni win...and she was the picture of good taste and
sophistication in a gallery of tramps...don't know if anyone has mentioned it
yet, but she was there with LK; play your tape in slow motion and you can see
him by her when they show her in the audience...and did you catch the
puzzled, concerned and somewhat amused look on her face when Macy Gray's
"coat" got caught on something and stayed stuck in the aisle as the
very-stoned Ms. Gray tripped (no pun intended) to the stage (Joni was seated
just across the aisle)?
