Lindsay and I met up today at Borders to see her. We were really surprised
that so many people showed up - it's extremely stormy and COLD here this
weekend. There were probably about 150 people at the store and even JB
seemed a bit surprised and very gratified that so many made the trek. She
signed CDs for just about every single person and spent time chatting with
and signing multiple mementos for each. We had to wait about 45 minutes to
get to her and she was very sweet. She only played about 4-5 songs here,
too, but was as great and lively as usual. She said she will be playing a
real concert with full band in L.A. on March 30th at the El Rey Theater.
When Phyliss and I saw her last year she previewed some of the new songs and
we thought they were great. I'm listening to the new album and I really,
really like it. There are so many chords and melodies similiar to Joni in
her music. At Borders they are selling the version with the 3 bonus tracks -
the CD wrapper has a sticker saying this version is a "Borders Exclusive."
Hope you and Alison get to see her. She seems like a great person.
