I've never been a fan of the flying-around-mayhem that attends these
oriental sagas. I've never been able to suspend disbelief long enough to
take the story as it unfolds. But for Crouch Tiger, Hidden Dragon, no
problem at all. I was engaged right from the beginning with the opening
scenes between Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh - anyone who has had an
unrequited love will connect with this right away. When then first fight
scene began I was just transported - what must that sound like!? For me, a
truly excellent film. One that I rank among the best I have ever seen.
