Coming out of lurkdom, I have to agree with CC about this thread:

It's not that I don't think we can't be critical of our idol, but so
many of the least favorite songs are ones that I too might once have
put into my own 'least favorite' category, and then found that years
later, eventuallly came through for me. Some of the songs that I used
to skip over are now the ones I pay closest attention to, and find
myself humming or singing to myself. The fact that I finally
appreciate some of her songs 10, 20 or 30 years later is another reason
I'm still in awe of Joni after all these years.
Also, on the facelift thread, when I saw Joni up close in Hollywood
in December 1999 at the opening of the exhibition of her paintings at
LACE, she didn't look to have had any work done. I think when she
appears on TV she has someone who knows how to do good TV makeup. She
looked so great on Letterman, Rosie and the TNT tribute last year, and
especially on the Grammys the other night. Also, as someone who admits
she doesn't wake up until afternoon, she probably has very little sun
damage!
