i found, as i usually do with subtitled movies, that after the first five minutes i didn't even notice the subtitles any more. i take that as a good sign. i got so caught up in the story (and the fantastic scenery) that the subtitles just didnt register. anyone else get that? i went through a phase a few years ago of watching Japanese and CHinese films, and a lot of the time this was my experieince. and so too when i watched every german film i could find, and every french film too. if every film were written, designed to be in english then, yes, they would work in english...as they were designed. but when the writers, and other creators, make their piece of art in, say, Cantonese then it is meant to be experienced that way. if Joni were to write a song in another language, then everyone on this list would believe to some degree that it was an important part of that songs integrity. if someone came along and covered this track in english, yes it would be interesting, but wouldn't the song lose something? (not to take anything away from those artists that have translated Joni into other languages). that's my two red pennies worth anyway GARRET
