Lest anyone think the metaphors we're blocking refer
to the music ... my recollection is that it refers to
the respective audiences. I was kind of stunned that
Dylan seemed to have become the darling of the WWF/XFL
crowd ... while Joni's maintained her imminently
reasonable, highly sophisticated, immaculately
educated, erudite and faultlessly polite (unless
talking politics ...) following. ;-)
