<<I thought the pairing was great because it forced Joni at several points during the
concerts to defend herself proudly, which I strongly
respected her for.>>

Yes, but this also meant she had to take the verbal abuse, something that I don't
think ANY of us can be happy with...of course Joni's going to defend herself, with her
Irish blood and all, but how much BETTER would it be if she wasn't forced to do that
by people who didn't want to hear her in the first place?

<< For example, one of the post shows that someone had
written stated that after being insulted by a fan, Joni declared, "Fuck you,
I am just as good as Bob!" And at the show that I attended at Maryland
College, a fan who shouted out, "bring out dylan" was actually hauled off
the floor by the guards if i recall best.>>

I'm really confused here, Blair...no offense man, but you think this is GOOD stuuf?
How much of this is Joni going to tolerate before she finally says 'to hell with it'?
This whole thing reminds me of the discussion we had recently about the unfunny
comedian and Ami Mann, and how the unbalanced pairing was NOT a good idea...

<<The shows were WOnderful! Joni was in such fine form and having Brian Blade
on drums and Mark Isham on Trumpet was Spanktastic.>>

On this point we totally agree, my friend, and don't forget Greg Liesz on guitar and
pedal steel - extrememly nice guy and also extrememly talented.

I remember walking into Chastain Park to see her in 2000 and thinking that everyone
else there was there to see Joni, and only Joni!!
