Do any other Brits suffer from the intense frustration I feel about Joni's
almost total absence from the media in Britain?She just doesn't register on
the visibility scale.
I've recently put together a couple of cd's of 38 of her more accessible
tracks.Upon giving copies to friends, they are amazed by the richness of her
music.The usual reaction is "I just can't stop playing it".Some examples of
tracks are:
Chelsea Morning
California
Woman /heart/mind
In France they kiss etc
Sex kills
Reoccurring dream
Lakota
Carey
Impossible Dreamer
Harry's House
When I go to New York,as I often do,her music can be heard at least
semi-regularly in shops or on VH1 and people I work with usually know her.In
Britain no one under the age of 40 has even heard of her.What a tragedy
in this age of formula music that such a talent should go largely
unrecognised.Does anyone out there agree with me?
