No, actually not.
Let me clear up the confusion. The chat room looks as though it's part of
the JMDL site, but actually it's not. It is hosted on another server (thus
the unavoidable advertisements).
You do not need to register at the JMDL site before you use the chat room,
nor do you have to have a password to use the chat room. Simply input any
username you wish, and leave the rest blank.
Also, I asked the hosts why Mac users were having so many problems and got
this curt response:
>Thank you for your inquiry. Chat requires your favorite Java-enabled
>Web browser. 100% Java chat is not recommended for Macintosh.
Sorry, Mac users - it wasn't my intent to exclude you. I'll look for other
solutions to allow you to join as well.
