I don't actually think you do... since the jmdl site is run
completely seperately to the chat room. The chat room is 
actually a service provided by xoom.com, under an NBCi
banner, when you dig down and stare at all the bits and
bobs.

You just need to choose a username that isn't currently
used by anyone else, and leave all the other fields
blank.
