I'm just wondering if you've seen the movie "Crossroads" with Ralph Macchio
(and don't let that put you off - he's not too bad). It follows Ralph as a
young classical guitarist at Julliard, who has a equal passion for the
blues. He discovers what he thinks is a reference to a "lost" song by
Robert Johnson, and breaks one of Johnson's band members (Willie) out of a
"retirement prison" - kind of an old people's prison - and they head back to
Mississippi. It's one of my favourites, and centre's around Johnson's (and
Willie's) deal with the devil - made at the Crossroads. The guitar "duel"
at the end with Ralph up against Steve Vai is incredible! Ry Cooder wrote
most of the music, and is Ralph's double for the duel, although Ralph does
most of the rest of the guitar work in the movie.
Well worth a look!
