<<What can anyone tell me about the "Meat Puppets"? Specifically, what songs did they
do on "Unplugged"?>>
Hi Kammy in Alabammy!
The Meat Puppets are great! They've been around for awhile, starting out in the 80's
on SST records along with The Minutemen, & Husker Du. The main creative
force/songwriter/singer is Curt Kirkwood. They're from Arizona, I think...they like to
perform in drag.
They toured with Nirvana on the latter's "In Utero" tour, and as a result appeared
with them on MTV's "Unplugged", where Cobain & co. did a whole mini-set of Kirkwood's
songs, probably knowing that every adolescent would buy the CD and send The Meat
Puppets lots of royalty pennies in the process. Read more about it at:

and keep rockin'! :~)
