OK, a couple pieces of business:
I apperantly quoted, in my last post, a private e-mail
thet Marcel sent me which pissed him off quite a bit.
I don't want to envoke his wrath yet again (and
recieve another threatning e-mail) so I'll share my
REPLY to him:
"Everyone on the Joni list who posts (to the list)
commenting on something I've said also sends a copy to
me as a seperate e-mail message. My assumption is that
your message to me was another of those. As I thought
it was going to the entire list, I saw no problem with
quoting it. I have no way of telling if something you
send to me is not going to the entire list. I was
following your past precedent.
The rest of your message is so insulting and full of
anger that I won't comment on it save one small thing:
The comment about Sutcliffe and necrophelia was
supposed to be a JOKE. I thought I had made that
clear. I was trying to ward off the inevitable stroke
heading your way by lightening things up a bit. Now
that I see it's backfired I suggest yoga, or barring
that, a couple shots of good tequila to help you deal
with your anger.
If I sent something to the Joni group that you did not
want others to see, then I apologise. A small mistake
does not make me an imbecile, stupid, or
self-centered, as your message claims. I would suggest
that filling ones self full of pure hatred or someone
they have never met DOES."

OK, enough of that ugliness.
On a somewhat related message, I replied to Paul I's
message to me which he also posted to the list (see-he
posted both to ME and THE LIST! I'm on this list in
digest form, and dont see what gets posted here until
later.) and then waw it on the digest, so I'll respond
to all:
"Plastic Ono Band was the name of John's first solo
album, with Working Class Hero, Mother, God, I Found
Out, Love, Look at Me etc. Was there another?"
Yes. Yoko also had an lp from the same time with the
title Yoko Ono-Plastic Ono Band. Nearly identical
cover to Johns record. Yoko's lp Fly from 1971 uses
the same typeface and has a very similar cover to
John's Imagine lp.
I think this was all by design-they wanted to release
'mirror' or 'twin' records. It only lasted through
those two sets of releases, though. They joined up
after that on 'Sometime in NYC'.
Needless to say, Yoko's Plastic Ono Band is very
different from John's. Some interesting musicians on
it-Lennon, Ringo, Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, etc.
It's a good one.
