This has absolutely nothing to do with Joni, and is
stricly related to cats and their behaviour and is
kind of gross, so if you're weak of stomach, go no
further and simply delete.

Do any cat owners out there have any suggestions as to
what could possibly be the reason why a cat would poop
on the floor? This is the first time this has ever
happened. Trouble is, we've got 3 cats and I'm not
sure which of the little darlings is responsible for
the lovely present; I checked to make sure that the
door to the basement (where the litter box is) was
open and it was, so we can't blame it on being caught
short.

One of the cats was kind of stinky last night and I
thought maybe some of the caca had stuck to her bum
(she's a long-hair and that does happen from time to
time - see, I told you it could get gross!); but that
doesn't seem to be the case, as I checked her out
(carefully!) On the other hand, she may be paying me
back for combing her perhaps a little too zealously
earlier in the day (although she has never acted
vengeful before, and didn't appear to be stressed
out).

I've had one of my cats pee on the sofa and it turned
out she had a urinary tract infection. None of the
cats has had a problem before with sharing the
litterbox with the other two cats; and, even though I
was using a different type of cat litter than I
normally use, I had also been using this type for at
least a week - and I had just changed the litter.

Maybe it won't happen again (I certainly hope not!),
in which case, I'll just chalk it up to stress or
weird cat behaviour - and, if I do need to take a cat
to the vet, it would help to know which one to take!
If anyone has had this problem before with a cat and
has any suggestions (apart from euthanising them all,
and no, I really don't mean that), I'd be pleased to
hear about it. Sorry for wasting space, but Joni has
cats too.
