I have to totally agree with you here on all accounts. But what
could ever come close to Hejira? Had she put this out first it may
have changed the way we feel about the other albums. Her masterpiece
came at the height of her songwriting. Many people's lives change
drastically after about age 32, with other responsibilities such as
families, friends(or lack of) that may affect a person's peofessional
career. Believe me, there's nothing like having children to change
a person. I still buy everything she puts out, and by today's
standards it is still terriffic material. I just don't put it on
like I do Don Juan, Hejira, For the Roses, Court and Spark.
