Baseball players sometimes have to change due to injury or ageing.
Look at some major leaguers like Danny Darwin and John Smoltz. These
are pitchers whom have had to revert to knuckle balls and change-ups
to get hitters out, rather than throwing by everybody. So, yes some
can adjust and still be quite effective. Some of the better hitters
like Rod Carew and Tony Gwynn got(get) better with age. Instead of
trying to jerk every ball out of the park, they adjusted as they aged
and tried to be a complete hitter by taking balls to opposite field.
So, to double the conflict of the post here you go.
