hi shane, i was about to recommend the jaco lp myself
and wanted to make sure i don't just repeat what you
have said. the jaco lp: is that the one with the b&w
cover which is his whole face? the one with "come on,
come over" on it? or is it the one that you mentioned
jaco's first solo lp called "jaco" which is the first
recording that pat ever appeared on? as i recall it,
the album sounds pretty much the same all the way
through. the songs were all written by the keyboardist
who played only the hammond organ, with pat noodling a
la jerry garcia throughout. i must say that their
efforts on joni's stuff show what added maturity can
do for a musician.
