I"ve mentioned recently that it was Neil Diamond, primarily, who introduced
me to Joni's music, but now that it's been brought up, I also recall
Barbra's version of "I Don't Know Where I Stand" to be a factor in my
deciding to pick up my first Joni album. In other words, I kept seeing her
name on other people's albums, liking the songs, and finally going to the
source of the genius. :)
In other news, I find myself thinking about Perry Como, what with his
recent passing. I was never a huge fan, but always kinda liked him. He
seemed like a nice guy, someone it'd be comfortable to chat with. Surely
he recorded a version of Both Sides Now somewhere along the way, didn't he?
Anyone know if he recorded any other Joni songs? I'm just guessing, of
course.
