I was thrilled when I first heard Barbra doing a cover of "I Don't Know Where
I Stand" on her Stoney End album. She covered many songwriters of that day,
and paid tribute to each one in doing so.
If Joni was to sing a Barbra song, let it be one Streisand has composed
(which, granted, aren't many). Could anyone hear Joni doing a jazzy version of
Evergreen? I imagine Joni's low vocal register doing marvelous things with
that song.
