Hi -
Since I joined the list I haven't been able to keep up with most the mail,
but I did notice this post.
First, I agree with the person who recommended Yahoo! Mail - not only
haven't I had spam since I've been using it, but you can configure it so
you receive it to your own email reader (Eudora, Outlook, etc.) and you
don't have to read it off the web; it comes right into your box. Very
convenient.
Second, regarding a Joni related name, I'm so sorry I haven't replied to
the question am I an EmmyLou fan (Red Dirt Girl), been so busy, but this is
a good time for me to say I took my Yahoo name just for this list. In
California, on Blue she sings, "I went to a party down a red dirt road /
there were lots of pretty people reading Rolling Stone, reading Vogue" (I
hope I got that lyric right). I happen to live on a street called Red Dirt
Road (not the one she's singing about, I'm sure) and I always hear her
saying, "I went to a party down *on* Red Dirt Road..."
Blue is my favorite album too, btw. I don't have them all, I'm not nearly
as Joni-knowledgeable as the rest of you but I consider myself a fan. I
just picked up Hejira this week and have been listening to it for the first
time. If Blue is my favorite (I've got C&S, Turbulent Indigo, and now
Hejira), what would you recommend next? Contrary to what I see here, I'm
not in love with Court and Spark - sounds too commercial/pop for my taste.
