FWIW, they put out Trio II a year or two ago. Same basic
premise. One of the coolest cuts from the sessions for the
first album,"Mr. Sandman" (a real homage to Les Paul and Mary Ford),
ended up on Emmylou's great album "Evangeline". I think "The Boxer"
was another from those first sessions-but which album was that?
Roses In the Snow, maybe?
I know what you mean about the Trio album being so harsh.
Sometimes I wonder if half the reason vinyl sounds better is
because the upper frequencies generally cut out at 13 or 14khz.
I would wager that just cranking the treble control back on the
CD makes it more listenable. Still, some CD's definitely sound
better than others.
