Had the pleasure of meeting Shane Mattison from Alberta this weekend. He was
travelling around California & the southwest too I believe & he stopped in
for a visit to Santa Barbara. He loved my town so much he stayed an extra
day!. I think he was hoping to visit Kakki too, if she wasn't working over
the weekend & if he could drag himself away from Santa Barbara!
Shane's visit coincided with one of our Music on the Mountain gigs.
Fortunately he found his way to Cold Spring Tavern & got to hear some
acoustic music. He gave me a tape of one of his songs followed by lots of
joni songs (of course!) Shane has a really nice voice! I heard a tinge of
Neil Young but it might just be his very cool Canadian accent.
I also got my Sherrelle tape today...wonderful singing Sherrelle, I hope you
get what you are looking for in the music world, you certainly have the
talent!
