Friends,

It's not often I post these days, and I'm continuing my
trend of posting NJC content, but hey, what can I say. I'm
too busy listening to Joni at the moment to write about it...

Something, or rather someone, has triggered a touch of
creativity in me, and after getting reactions from some of my
trusted advisors (you know who you are, dear people) I've
to jump in with both feet and post the restults of my
frantic scribblings.

The first item is a short poem, that happened in about
ten minutes last night. It probably shows: I've never
considered myself a poet. It's inspired by... oh well
never mind that... And yes, the title is kinda lame.
Sue me :)

The second is a song, that took two nights to come to
fruition. One of my friends is responsible for the major
cliche in the song, and while I usually try to avoid cliches,
I rekon it fits. This one has the bonus feature that you
can choose the half of the title that works for you.

If you like 'em, let me know. If you hate them totally,
I probably don't want to know :-)

Peace,

--Chris (Cambridge UK)

"Love"

Electricity sparks between two poles
A brief event strikes two lost souls
Asunder torn an aching woe
Forever welded, two hearts mended

Heat and warmth, our hearts desire
Earning not each others ire
Loving feelings forever fired
Made as one and bound eternal

Light shines out for all to see
Lending glimpses of what might be
Fearful, though, of what might not be
Those who try, destined to cry

All are smitten, but some are bitten
So often is it written
For all our sakes, let us all be driven
For ever after, our hearts to master

"Spin me round and drag me under"

February rings a new change
Nine months long since summers last dawn
Three months short to wait for its warm touch
But right now for me summers early
Someone brought new life on early
Winter all around made warm and dry

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder

One year later words flow fast still
Virtual perpetual motion
Linking us across a great divide
Then it becomes hops and hot air
Better that then bits and bytes yeah
Winter all around made warm and dry

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
But I never did stop long to ponder
This elevating sense of wonder

(Chorus)
I think about you all the time
I hope thats not so great a crime
With luck I might just be alright
If perhaps youll hold me tight

But hell its all just temporary
I read the signs but failed the theory
Out of control, my foot flat on the floor
And as I plunge headlong into fate
I wonder if its now just too late
Winters icy grip undoing mine

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
But I never did stop long to ponder
That this elevating sense of wonder
Might spin me round and drag me under

(Chorus)
I think about you all the time
I hope thats not so great a crime
With luck I might just be alright
If perhaps youll hold me tight
If I keep it to myself then I might
Think about you all my life
