I know y'all are anxiously awaiting news from our Midwest Joni get-together.
;>) (It went from being called a fest, then a gathering, then a
get-together.)

Well, it was probably the smallest Joni event ever, but we had a great time!
(Ashara: We are not worthy! We are not worthy!) A few people couldn't make
it at the last minute due to unavoidable circumstances, so we started out at
dinner with just Diane E. from IN, Steve, and my partner and I. (Oh yeah,
Joni was there too in the form of a great mask Diane had made from the cover
of Turbulent Indigo.) Mary from Madison joined us later (she can tell that
story), and we met at a local bar called the 1100 Club. (We were joined
later by 2 of Steve's friends, making our numbers increase a little!!!)
Steve did an awesome set of Joni tunes for our small but mighty group, and
even included some dulcimer songs. We're not sure how much he appreciated
our out of tune back-up singing on "Hissing" and "Carey," but he took it in
stride. :>) After we pretended to be Steve's roadies and hauled his
equipment to his house, the girls (Mary & Diane) came to our house for a
"Joni slumber party." The next morning, we had a "Joni brunch," complete
with great food and conversation. Thanks, Steve for all the trouble you
went through and the private concert! Mary, it was great seeing you again
after almost a year and Diane, it was wonderful to meet you! You're both
invited to "come for conversation" anytime!!!
