Ron Greer asked: >the movie "sweetwater - a true story" which is apparently the story of a >band called sweetwater which opened at woodstock, will be showing here on >sunday night/monday morning at 01.00 am... is it worth sitting up till >1 am for?? Well...yes and no. Sweetwater was a terrific LA band in the late '60s, with *no* guitars. Cello, flute, bass, drums, keyboard and a fabulous singer called Nansi Nevins. They were making really different rock'n'roll, and were great live. (And MS Kakki liked 'em too!) The movie is a VH-1 produced melodrama...it's not awful, but it's not great. You do get to hear some of the band's classics.
