talking of unclassifiable, here in Barcelona when Virgin Records was still
alive (en pau descansi!) 'early Joni' was on the first floor with the folk
stuff. DED and WTRF were in Rock-Pop, and Mingus was in Jazz, both in the
basement. Another peculiarity of most Spanish and Catalan record shops is
that they classify names by surnames. When I shopped in Wales I had the
Mitchell, Metheny and Morrison LPs all together. Now I have Joni, Jimi
Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jon Bon Jovi all together... Add this to the fact
that the writng on the spines of novels, and other books, sometimes reads
from top down (twist your right ear to your right shoulder to read) and
sometimes from the shelf up (left ear to left shoulder). If this sounds like
fun, try browsing for a couple of hours...
Love from Barcelona, any other Catalans (or Welsh?) listers out there?
contact me off-list if you want,

Mike Pritchard
