greetings ye olde toontowners, and happy one year later to you all, too. hard to believe it's been a year already. we must be getting old, the way the time is flying by. emil has just graduated into grade 7 and is off with his brother, everett, and their dad to salmon arm, b.c., to stay with my parents for a week or so. it is too quiet around here but i am not complaining, oh no, not me. i have to toddle off to work in st. albert anyway -- i work for the st. albert gazette these days, full-time to boot -- it's killing me, the routine of it, but i am a born proofreader and hey, it pays the bills. i've started doing a bit of writing too (ad features, crime reports -- nothing too exciting, but it'll do). joni is still in play around here on a daily basis, of course. when emil wants to do something nice for me, he puts her cds on. he is heavy into neil young at this point -- all he wanted for his 13th birthday a couple weeks ago was a neil young music video. got it, too. i am enjoying reading the recounts of the jonisaskatoon time; it was the first time i'd ever been among people who were as moved by her music as i am, and that was a treat in itself. one of my jobs is formatting for SEE magazine on Wednesdays. http://www.greatwest.ca/see They interview performers who are coming to town, among other things. Of course, our Joan hasn't been here in a while, but one of the editors told me, when questioned, that last time Joni was here, she sent one of his friends on a mission to buy her some black hash. Bye all! Kate of the North http://www.connect.ab.ca/~katej
