We all know Joni's music has different meanings for different people. I
always thought the "whiney white kids" were the female singer-songwriters in
the late 90's who all cited Joni as an inspiration, eg. Jewel, Joan Osborne,
Alanis Morrissette. They all seemed so "angst-filled" and I got the
impression Joni thought the same way I did - "Get over yourselves! What do
you know about suffering!?"
