Being referred to as black(s) doesn't offend me personally unless you put the 
word "the" in front of it. I'm not sure why that bothers me, but it does. It 
just has a derogatory tone to it in my opinion. I can't speak for Jamaicans 
being referred to as an African American. It could be an affront to his 
native land, but again, I cannot say. I would actually like to be referred to 
as "human." I would like to see the day that a person sees my character 
before he/she sees the color of my skin. That doesn't mean I am not proud of 
my ethnicity, it just means that I would prefer to be acknowledged as a 
member of the human race. This is just my own personal opinion.
