Thought I would chime in and tell you the titles of
two books I am currently reading. I was reading three
but put one down for the moment in part because I have
already read it a few times ... (Cat's Eye by Margaret
Atwood). On this latest visit to the local library, I
walked out with a few gems.
I did manage to find a copy of Leonore Fleischer's
book Joni Mitchell. Lots of great black and white
photographs. Brei and I are currently hunting this one
down for our Joni shelf. The librarian turned his nose
up at it and said he was sure he could find a more
current book on Joni and he gave me a really weird
look when I said this one was just fine thank you very
much.
On to the two that I'm working through. The first is
An Equal Music by Vikram Seth (he also wrote among
other things A Suitable Boy....and the other is The
Measure of a Man a spiritual autobiography by Sidney
Poitier. Both are the kind of books that I do not want
to put down.
Brenda Walker mentioned Toni Morrison earlier. I
absolutely love and adore Morrison's work The Bluest
Eye.

And this loving is a drawing close,
a tuning in, an opening.
Until one perfect moment;
but how can it be expressed?
A receiving, an enfolding
as I cradle you in my arms.
Within my heart, within my soul,
You are my true love.
