I have a feeling I'm revisiting an earlier conversation, but... my favorite 
Roberstson Davies book is about musicians: "A Mixture of Frailties." 
(I think someone on JMDL corrected me and told me it IS part of one of his 
trilogies. Whatever, it's fabulous.)
