Paul McCartney and Jane Asher? That was one of the great 60s celebrity
romances. She starred with Michael Caine in "Alfie", and have you noticed
how all of the women Paul has partnered since have looked like her?
Freckles, minimal make-up, natural hair, liittle interest in designer
clothes etc. Linda was very much in the same mould.
Incidentally, Jane Asher is now married to the brilliant, but cuttingly
cynical cartoonist, Gerald Scarfe, who designed Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and
in his declining years, Walt Disney's "Hercules".
Celebrities do tend to cling together, don't they?. Ask Joni about it.
And yes, "And I Love Her" was a beautiful song. My quirky, personal
favourite Beatles' song is "Fixing A Hole" just ahead of "Norwegian Wood",
isn't it good? I've got to stop my mind from wandering where it will
go........which is - there was this song that I adored in the 80s when my
first daughter, Hannah, was born and had cholic. I used to hold her in my
arms, in her nappy, with her chubby liittle arms clinging to me, and spin
round and round and round to it for hours, until her crying turned to
smiling and then sleep. It was "Spinnin' and Spinnin'" by Syreeta, who
married Stevie Wonder, and performed with Billy Preston who, of course,
recorded with the Beatles! God, those celebrities really DO stick together.
