Willy the Shake wrote a lovely post about
playing Night Ride Home and how Joni does
seem to find the most obscure words to
use.
Been thinking about this for a while,
as I have traded lyrics-poems with others
on the list and always found my verbage
mundane.
Notice the way Joni uses words, even sometimes mispronouncing them to make
the rhyme work. Like in Don't Interrupt
the Sorrow, clandestine she uses in
conjunction with wine, when the correct
(according to the dictionary) way would
be to couple it with win, or sin.
