My charming husband took me to the Yes concert in Ohio last night. I went
because Ric is mad about the band, not because I particularly like them.
After last night's performance I think I may have to give them a second
chance, in spite of the conditions of the concert.

Throughout the show a rather drunken lout near my left ear kept shouting, in
a voice like gravel rolling down an empty flatbed truck, "Ye-aahh!" I don't
mind their peculiar way of having fun, but regret it always seems to happen
near me. ;-) Okay, the acoustics were lousy, too, with the electric music
often drowning out the orchestra and the violins close to shrieking through
the PA at times. The music actually sounded better way out on the other
side of the performing area, but you lose the nuances of the performance
from there. When I arrived I figured we'd be hearing another 70's band that
should retire, since their voices usually already have.

I was pleasantly surprised to find them in excellant voice and the music so
much more than I had previously given them credit for! Egads, I hate it
when my husband's right. But then, again, he did learn to listen to Joni
with me!

The moral of these ramblings is: go see Yes on this tour if you can!

Thanks for the bandwidth,
Diane
