Thanks to several kind folks on this Joni fan site, I was able to acquire
certain sheet music to some Joni tunes including JOTMAS/Ludwig's Tune. I
brought it with me to my recent piano lesson and asked Colleen, my teacher,
for advice on playing it (wishful thinking... hah!)
We found that a D in the left hand is mistakenly not marked as a sharp
(twice)- we eventually figured out where the error was- in the piano solo
after "...loving your touch") so she penciled it in. It's obvious that there
is a mistake in the transcription 'cause at the same time that the left hand
D is played, the right hand is playing a D sharp. She kept playing that part
and we both knew that something was wrong (it just didn't sound right.) At
first, she thought she was playing it wrong since she's never played it
before and was reading it for the first time. But I heard it too and, since
I know the song so well, I said "it sounds like your right hand is good but
there's something wrong in the left." Am I observant or what?!
I thought it might be of interest to others who might want to learn this
song. Has anyone else noticed this error?
